Hey, folks, my never-ending theatrical tour of CHEATIN' is now coming to the East Coast - I'll be showing the film this week in the Washington, DC area on Wednesday, July 29, 7 pm at the AFI Silver in Silver Springs, MD. I've shown my films there many times, and always had a great response. So I'll be there to introduce the film, do a Q&A session after and then do sketches for everyone.

(I heard the Obama family may stop by, they're big fans of animation. Who knows, maybe even Bill and Hillary!)
Then I'll take the train up to Philadelphia to show CHEATIN' at the Roxy Theater, screening on Thursday, July 30 at 7:30 pm - I have a lot of friends and fans there, so I hope to get a big crowd. Same deal, I'll introduce the film, take questions and draw sketches until my hand falls off.

The last time I was there, the driver confused me with Bill Clinton, and I had a brigade of police motorcycles escort me to City Hall. Boy, were they disappointed when I stepped out of the limo wearing shorts and a t-shirt. So, please tell all your friends to come on by.
After that, Sandrine and I will drive over to the Brandywine River Museum to see the largest collection of N.C. Wyeth art. I'll tell you how I'm a big N.C. Wyeth freak - his work influenced me so much. His design, color, use of darks and lights - his paintings are so dramatic. They tell stories, they're like little animated films, but they're only one painting each.

I will write a blog entry next week about my visit to the Brandywine River Museum - so watch for that. In the meantime, please tell all your friends on the East Coast to come see CHEATIN' in Washington DC and Philly.
Vaya con dios,
Bill Plympton
